Ian Henderson writes "On the left is the Brake Cross beam. This is attached through the link to the engine brake shaft brake lever. In effect this is a type of bell crank with the shaft being part of the assembly. I'm pretty sure that on the right is a spring hanger foot."

Ian Henderson writes "This is looking over the middle and rear driving axle cannon boxes. The riveted area is where the 2" frame extensions meet the main frames.  Immediately above the trailing axle is the Front Firebox Support and Truck Pivot.  The cast vertical frame stretcher at the top of the picture is different from the Lot 242 Clan drawings as the triangle is much shallower. You may know that the Lot 242 Clans used the cast steel frame stretchers prototyped on 71000 so the vertical stretchers may well be different"
