 Many of our customers welcome the idea of belonging to an association to promote the building, and sheer pleasure of running their steam models. Some of you may already be members of local Model Engineering Societies and others may be fortunate enough to have their own garden railway or suitable running facilities. Our customer membership is already large enough to justify the production of a bi-monthly newsletter - ‘Fastrack’. This is a forum for exchanging hints and tips on construction, painting and other topics of interest. In the future we expect to arrange get-togethers to run models - perhaps on a local and international basis! Should you become the proud owner of one of our steam models we will invite you to enjoy free membership of the Silver Crest Association. | Ready to Run Option | ||
| Traditionally our models have only been
available in kit form for home assembly and painting. We are pleased to announce we are now able to offer our 14xx locomotive in either kit form or ready assembled and professionally painted. As we anticipate the demand for our Ready to Run models (RTR) will be high the delivery time will be 33% longer than the kit programme to allow for extra time involved in finishing and painting a number of locomotives. Thus the 14xx will be available over a 16 month purchase programme. Of course spreading the cost over these additional months may make the idea particularly attractive. The RTR option will appeal to those collectors for whom the pleasure is in the ownership and running of a fine live steam locomotive rather than its construction. We are also aware that some aspiring modellers have so little spare time at the present that the assembly of even the simplest of kits will have to be put off to a later date. However, there's no time like the present and retirement to your workshop may be a long way off yet! Your model will be assembled with care to a high standard and painted professionally in your choice of livery.
