We proudly present this most popular of  model locomotives
for 7 1/4" gauge.

The 7 1/4" gauge model is substantially similar to the 5" in
respect to the kit composition and general detail. This page
provides information on the 7 1/4" model specification,
payment and delivery arrangements and should be read
in conjunction with the main GWR section of this site.
 
Complete in every Detail . . .

This was our first venture into 7 1/4" gauge but the proven
philosophies that have guided us so successfully  in our 5" range will similarly be applied to the the new larger gauge locomotives.

In common with all our other models your 7 1/4" 14xx kit will
contain every component necessary to complete and run a
finished locomotive. Everything is designed for
straight-forward bolt- together assembly with only the minimum of finishing with hand tools required to produce a model in which you can take real pride in.

The copper boiler is presented to you fully constructed, silver soldered throughout, superheated and hydraulically tested to twice working pressure. The locomotive frames are pre-cut with all of the plate work, cab and tanks pre-formed in heavy gauge brass.

 As with all our previous models components can be paid for and despatched monthly so you can build as you buy, sensibly spreading the cost and workload.

Designed for construction in less than 150 hours the 14xx class offers a fast build option for model engineers and falls within the skill range of the less experienced.

The 14xx class locomotive is a beautiful model in any gauge but the 7 1/4" version in many respects represents an ideal size. It is a powerful locomotive capable of pulling up to 12 adults yet is of a manageable size and weight.
